Effect of pollination on seedset and yield of buckwheat (\kur{Fagopyrum esculentum}).

Common buckwheat is a attracting plant for many pollinators, therefore it be helping to restore biodiversity in the landscape. The most important of pollinators of buc kwheat are honeybee and hoverflies. The aim of this thesis was to find out effect of pollination of buckwheat sown with honeybees and the others pollinators on the seed set and yield of archenes in different varieties of buckwheat. A small-plot field experiment was established with three varieties of common buckwheat in the Pilsen Region, in the place of Zábělá. Before flowering began, half of the plots were covered with insect screens. The buckwheat stand was evaluated from the point of: plants height, number of branches, number of flowers and inflorescences on a plant, nectar volume in Thrum flowers, flowering time, number of archenes on a plant, the weight of thousand of archenes and the yield of archenes. Monitoring of pollinators was performed at the time of buckwheat flowering at 9, 10, 11, 12 and 14 hours, during 10 minutes, using photos. Nectar collection took place on five consecu tive days, from 16. 7. until 20. 7., at 9, 10 and 11 hours. Total of 31 insect species were recorded on buckwheat flowers. The most common effective pollinators of buckwheat were honeybees, (39,7 %) and hoverflies (37,5 %). The significant difference in nectar production was found among the tested buckwheat varieties. The yield of achenes on covered plants was 87 % lower than on freely accessible plants.

This Bachelor's thesis is focused on honey and its microbiological parameters. The theoretical part contains definitions of honey and its historical context. Furthermore, it describes the process of honey creation and its natural sources: nectar and honeydew. The thesis further describes physical and chemical attributes of honey, its composition, and antimicrobial properties. In the last part of the literature review, the microorganisms which could contaminate honey are described. In the empirical part the thesis examines samples of honey using a microbiological analysis. The aim of this experiment is to prove that honey has a composition and properties which are unfavourable for growth and procreation of microorganisms.

Honey is one of the ingredients in the production of mead, copper beer, liqueur and honey vinegar. It is also part of cakes and gingerbread.
Attractive planting of species of potentially expanding bee pastures for bees

This diploma thesis entitled "Attractiveness of Planting Species with a Potential to Extend Bee Forage for Bees" discusses pollen and nectar plants planted in the Brník municipality in the Central Bohemian Region. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part describes honeybees, bee plants and their pollen- and nectar production ability as well as bee forage from early spring until late autumn so as to reflect the needs of pollinators as best as possible. The practical part uses pollen analysis to microscopically analyse the representation of pollen grains of plants in the honey produced by local bee colonies. Pollen analyses of honey from own bee colonies are compared with that from bee colonies belonging to neighbouring beekeepers.
Atractivity of buckwheat for bees

This diploma thesis ,,buckwheat attractivity for bees" deals mainly with native nectar plants for the processing of bees to honey. Work is folded in two parts. The theoretical part deals with the migration of colonies, both for nectar crops and plants with bee pollination needs. In ractical part of this thesis microscopic pollen analysis were performed and contents of pollen grains in honey from colonies, which were relocated to buckwheat growth was evaluated. Comparison of this honey with honey from the hives with similaar location, but without access to buckwheat growth was done.
Effect of used sweeteners on sensory properties of fruit drinks

The object of the study was a sensory evaluation of used sweetners in beverages from selected fruits. Within the sensory analysis apple juice and also pear, apricot, cherry and blackcurrant nectar were used. These drinks were subsequently diluted at two concentrations with drinking water: 1) in a ratio of 50 % of the original beverage and 50 % of drinking water; 2) in a ratio of 25 % of the original beverage and 75% of drinking water. Each of the concentrations were then divided into groups which were sweetened with white sugar, cane sugar, aspartame, sucralose or rebaudioside A. The performed sensory analyses show that rebaudioside A would have great potential to replace the commonly used white sugar in apple juice. Sucralose would have this potential in pear and cherry drinks. However, the use of other sweeteners in other types of beverages is also not excluded, because to prove a preference for white sugar failed in most cases.
Content of succrose in authentic honey from Czech Republic

The work is focused on the analysis of data on sugar composition of honey coming from beekeepers in the Czech Republic. The database includes a number of years and several hundred locations. The aim is to test the hypothesis that sucrose content in honeys vary in individual years in connection with the course of the weather, especially the sufficiency or deficiency of rainfall, so that in rare cases it can even unadulterated honeys sucrose content exceed the limit specified standard. It will formulate recommendations for action at the findings of the high sucrose content of genuine honeys to prevent unauthorized punishment.
Effect of grazing diversity on bee colony health status

The Bachelor thesis aims at establishing the impact that diversity of bee forage has on the state of health of the bee colony. Honeybees are important for the life on this planet. The first part of the thesis presents a description of honeybees and of what is natural for, and indispensable to, their life. It presents plants that offer high- or low-quality pollen and nectar in our climate conditions during the year according to the phenological calendar, and also discusses changes in our landscape in the course of history. The second part focuses on substances that may help bees to fight against diseases and pests.
Important plants in terms of pollen for bee-keeping in the summer and late summer in the area of the protected landscape Šumava

Objective of the work was to identify botanical origin of bee pollens collected from Protected Landscape area Šumava near the village of Volary and evaluate the importance of individual plant species in the diet of honey bees. The work also includes statistical analysis which examined how many subscriptions to a plant taxa occurred and what share has a certain plant taxon in the total pollen clutch. There were counted 18 different pollen taxa of bee pollens collected during summer and late summer of 2011. The work is complemented by photographs of selected pollen grains.
